We had 2 days filled with FUN Halloween activities at Ramsies. We created several stations throughout the room which were facilitated by our teachers. The children bobbed for apples, decorated cookies, dug for hidden treasures, painted a pumpkin picture with scented paint, created a candy corn mosaic, and tried to eat pieces of apples off of a string.
The children also dressed up in their costume. We had some very cute characters in our room!
Thank you so very much for your generosity for our party!! We had so many families donate items to help make it happen.

Nothing Wrong with a Little (LOT) of Dirt!
When the children come to Ramsies, they typically do not dress in their Sunday best. The parents know that we allow our children to explore inside and out. On this particular day, these 3 boys asked his teachers if they could bring some trucks outside to play. We said "OF COURSE you can!" This is how children learn... allowing them to explore with their creativity.
This was the action shot. They filled up their dump trucks and buckets with a lot of mulch and dirt. They used sound effects when their trucks were backing up and dumping the load.

This was the after shot when they were all finished playing in the dirt! I just love it!

VROOOOM....
We took a different approach to painting... we used toy cars as our paintbrushes! The children mixed red and blue paint together to create a pretty purple. They raced their cars all over the paper to make a very unique design.
A Sticky Situation
The children decorated their names with a lot of colorful stickers. They were all very careful to peel their sticker off and made sure they stuck it in the perfect location! Of course, there was the occasional sticker that ended up on their shirt rather than the paper.

Mr. Sunshine has been Shining Down on Us!
Now some would say that this Indianapolis weather is way too hot, but not me! I LOVE the summer time and it doesn't take too much persuasion to get the little ones to love it too. We have been lathering up the children with sunscreen and heading outdoors to do all sorts of fun activities.
We are lucky enough to have a sand and water table that was donated by one of my family members. The children have really enjoyed splashing around with cups, boats, bottles, and their hands. They have been so creative with these items when they play. When you take time to sit back and really listen to their conversations, it is amazing what you hear.

The children have also had fun outdoors at the playground. The Holy Spirit School PTO has just announced that they have raised over $11,000 for new playground equipment! Everyone is thrilled! They have asked for school families help in researching different playground equipment that would be enjoyable for a wide variety of ages. Little Ramsies has asked that we have a couple baby swings where our children can sit in to swing safely. In the meantime, we will continue to play mostly on the orange and green playground equipment because it is more geared towards the smaller children.
Of course, we have also gotten out our monster 6-seater stroller! It sure is a head-turner. I always smile when parishioners assume they are all my children when they say things like, "Wow, you sure are a brave woman having all of those children" or "You have a beautiful family there!". I would claim them all in a second. We have one special group of children!

Babies!!!!
Our 2 youngest Ramsies have had some lovely bonding time together. They enjoy looking at each other and babbling during tummy time. Our staff has really loved having infants begin with us again! We will welcome 2 more infants in October of this year. We LOVE our baby snuggle time :)

Just Taking a Little Swim
The children had a ball playing with all kinds of different sea creatures that Miss Shiromi brought in to share. We made different bodies of water with some blue butcher paper and spread all of the animals out. It was really interesting to see how the children split themselves into groups. There ended up being some unlikely pairs who had a lot of fun playing together!
