Mr. Sunshine has been Shining Down on Us!

Now some would say that this Indianapolis weather is way too hot, but not me! I LOVE the summer time and it doesn't take too much persuasion to get the little ones to love it too. We have been lathering up the children with sunscreen and heading outdoors to do all sorts of fun activities.

We are lucky enough to have a sand and water table that was donated by one of my family members. The children have really enjoyed splashing around with cups, boats, bottles, and their hands. They have been so creative with these items when they play. When you take time to sit back and really listen to their conversations, it is amazing what you hear.

The children have also had fun outdoors at the playground. The Holy Spirit School PTO has just announced that they have raised over $11,000 for new playground equipment! Everyone is thrilled! They have asked for school families help in researching different playground equipment that would be enjoyable for a wide variety of ages. Little Ramsies has asked that we have a couple baby swings where our children can sit in to swing safely. In the meantime, we will continue to play mostly on the orange and green playground equipment because it is more geared towards the smaller children.

Of course, we have also gotten out our monster 6-seater stroller! It sure is a head-turner. I always smile when parishioners assume they are all my children when they say things like, "Wow, you sure are a brave woman having all of those children" or "You have a beautiful family there!". I would claim them all in a second. We have one special group of children!

Babies!!!!

Our 2 youngest Ramsies have had some lovely bonding time together. They enjoy looking at each other and babbling during tummy time. Our staff has really loved having infants begin with us again! We will welcome 2 more infants in October of this year. We LOVE our baby snuggle time :)

Just Taking a Little Swim

The children had a ball playing with all kinds of different sea creatures that Miss Shiromi brought in to share. We made different bodies of water with some blue butcher paper and spread all of the animals out. It was really interesting to see how the children split themselves into groups. There ended up being some unlikely pairs who had a lot of fun playing together!

Something's a Little Fishy...

We dove into the sea world these past 2 weeks. The children learned about sea turtles, whales, dolphins, fish, and sharks. We of course did some crafts which included this fish mosaic. The children chose different "fish scales" to add to their giant fish. They worked on picking up 1 piece at a time and placing it in just the right spot!

We added our whales and dolphins to the calendar area. The children have a new pattern to say now! Whale, dolphin, whale, dolphin, whale.... Do YOU know what comes next ;)
